A new division of a large publishing company planned to serve upscale apartment communities with professionally designed, customizable, high quality newsletters. I not only hired the design, editorial, and support staff for this new company, but also designed the production system to facilitate its operation. The database solution I put in place served as a CRM system as well as a production management system. The job jacket ticket it generated routed through the design and editorial departments and contained a detachable ticket (including a shipping label) which routed to the printer. When shipment tracking was returned, the database could export the necessary data to the company's billing department for invoicing. I developed the guidelines as well as the processes for both the design and editorial departments.
